The Viareggio Carnival with its allegorical floats

The Viareggio Carnival is one of the most spectacular and internationally renowned Italian festivals, famous for its gigantic Papier-mâché Floats that parade along the seaside avenues.
The event, which dates back to 1873, lasts a month with masked parades, local events, shows, and exhibitions.

Useful tips for guests:

  • Since it is a very popular event, to avoid traffic and parking difficulties, it may be advisable to reach the event by train.
The Viareggio Station is just 2 stops from the Seravezza/Querceta/Forte dei Marmi Station (reachable in 10 minutes on foot from the Casetta or 2 minutes by car with a large Parking available).
  • To avoid lines at the ticket booths for the event, we strongly recommend purchasing tickets online.
  • Our guests can find further information and advice in the reserved area of the website or by contacting us directly.
We will be happy to advise them and, if they wish, personally accompany them on a discovery of our region.
